In 1978, ARA Services, Inc. entered the cleanroom garment industry by acquiring Best Way Services - a pioneer in the cleanroom garment industry.  Best Way was the first to use particulate control cleaning at its LaGrange, Illinois, facility in 1967.  Best Way was also the first company to employ microbial control by garment sterilization in 1969.

ARAMARK Cleanroom Services recognized the growth potential of the microelectronics and pharmaceutical industries, opening its second cleanroom in Los Angeles, California, in 1980, Further expansion into the growing contamination control market was achieved with the opening of the Scranton, Pennsylvania, facility in 1982. In 2001, continued growth required relocating the LaGrange, facility to a new state-of-the-art operation in Burr Ridge, Illinois.

In 2005, a new facility was opened in Toronto, Canada, expanding coverage beyond the continental U.S. for the first time.  In the latest expansion, a new plant was opened in San Juan, Puerto Rico, providing coverage to new and existing customers seeking world-class service and support on the island.

As the cleanroom industry has evolved, ARAMARK Cleanroom Services has continued to maintain its leadership position.  By continually improving its existing facilities and by adding new facilities, ARAMARK continues to demonstrate a solid commitment to lead the industry it helped develop.
